World: Ukraine Urges Canada Not To Hand Over Gas Turbine To Russia

Ukraine goes against Canada's giving over a turbine to Russia's Gazprom that Moscow says is basic for providing gaseous petrol to Germany and Kyiv accepts such a move would spurn sanctions on Russia, a Ukrainian energy service source said on Thursday.

A senior energy service source let Reuters know that Kyiv went against the move and that its energy serve had campaigned Canada in June not to give up the turbine being overhauled by Germany's Siemens Energy in Canada.


"The approvals deny the exchange of any gear connected with gas," the energy service source said.
